Delete your account and your data

This page explains how to delete your account in the FitTune app, published by Brightpath Labs LLC, and what happens to your data when you do.

Request deletion without the app

If you subscribe to Pro, cancel the subscription in the App Store or Google Play before you ask us to delete your account. Deleting the account does not cancel it.

  1. Write to support@fittune.app from the email address of your account and say that you want the account deleted. If you sign in with Google, this is the address of that Google account.
  2. We reply only to that address and ask you to confirm. Reply to our email to confirm the request.
  3. We delete the account after your confirmation and email you when it is done.

You do not need a password or a sign-in code for this, and we never ask for one. We delete an account only after a confirmation from its own address, so a request that names someone else’s address deletes nothing.

If you created the account with Sign in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, the account uses a private relay address. Include that address in your message. Your iPhone’s Settings show it under Sign in with Apple, in the entry for FitTune. We send the confirmation to the relay address, Apple forwards it to your own address, and your reply reaches us through the relay address, which confirms the request.

If no account uses the address you give us, our reply says so and asks for the relay address or for the address you sign in with.

What is deleted

When we delete your account, we delete:

  • your account, with its email or relay address, its Apple or Google sign-in identity, and its sign-in sessions;
  • your profile and settings: your display name, language, units, reminder setting, and devices;
  • your setup answers and training goals;
  • your training profile, body weight entries (those imported from Apple Health or Health Connect included), focus exercises, and equipment loads, and your training plan with every workout, target, change, and progression step;
  • your workout history: sessions, sets, cardio entries (those imported from Apple Health or Health Connect included), saved workouts, personal records, and the change history your devices used to sync them;
  • your custom exercises, training locations and their equipment, exercise preferences, and movement exclusions;
  • if you connected Strava, your Strava connection with its tokens, and the records of the workouts and cardio you chose to publish to Strava;
  • your subscription status and the subscription events we keep;
  • your customer record at RevenueCat, which handles our subscription purchases, with your purchase history there: we delete it at RevenueCat before we delete the account;
  • any admin role you held;
  • everything else that the privacy policy keeps until account deletion, such as your setup progress and your equipment changes for one day.

A deletion by email does not delete what the app stored on your phone or tablet. The app’s copy of your data stays there, also when you sign out, until you delete the app. The app’s stored sign-in stops working once the account is deleted, and the app then signs you out, which removes the notifications it had scheduled.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Backups: our database’s daily backups still hold your deleted data until each backup expires, at most 7 days later. We restore a backup only to recover from a failure, and a restore never brings back an account deleted before it.
  • Sign-in logs: the sign-in logs of Supabase, which runs our database and sign-in, show your email address in sign-in events and expire after 7 days.
  • Sign-in code emails: Resend, which sends our sign-in codes, keeps each code email, with the address it went to, for 30 days after it was sent, also after your account is deleted. The code in it stopped working 10 minutes after it was sent.
  • Your request: the emails of your deletion request stay in our company mailbox for 24 months, as the record that we completed it.
  • Other emails: the messages you sent to support@fittune.app and our replies stay in our company mailbox until 24 months after the last message of each conversation, and are then deleted.
  • Copies in other apps: workouts and cardio already written to Apple Health or Health Connect, and activities already published to Strava, stay there.
  • Purchase records: Apple and Google keep the records of your subscription purchases under their own policies. Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription and does not delete these records.
  • Subscription events after the deletion: a subscription event that RevenueCat sends us after the deletion, such as a renewal, stays for 90 days without your user ID.
  • Android notification record: on Android, the app keeps an empty file that notes only whether it has asked for permission to send notifications since it was installed. It holds no personal data and stays until the app’s data is removed, because it belongs to the app’s installation on that device, not to your account.
  • Usage statistics: once the app sends usage statistics to an analytics provider, they stay there for as long as the provider keeps them. They carry only random IDs, and nothing links them to you once the account is deleted.
  • Admin records, only if you held an admin role: your user ID stays on the exercise versions you saved, and your audit entries stay for at least 24 months, because both explain changes to the shared exercise catalog. Neither holds an email address, and after the deletion neither links to your name or address.

How long it takes

We delete the account within 30 days of your confirmation, usually within 7 days, and then email you that it is done. Backups that still hold your data expire up to 7 days later.
